Who this covers
This site, blakeblackwell.com, is operated by Blake Blackwell ("I", "me"), based in Canada. Questions about this policy go to blake@blakeblackwell.com.
What I collect
- What you type into the application form: your name, email, phone number if you give one, and your answers to the three questions.
- What you type to unlock the free guide: your first name and email, whether you ticked the box to get emails from me, and how you found the site (for example, which Instagram post or YouTube video sent you). I only email you tips and training if you ticked that box.
- Booking details when you pick a time, which are handled by Calendly under Calendly's privacy policy.
- How the site is used: I use PostHog, an analytics service, to see which pages are visited, what gets clicked, and which posts and videos bring people here. It may record anonymous session replays of how pages are used; anything you type into a form is masked and never recorded. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, none of this runs.
- If you're a student: the Closer Dojo and Closer HUD keep your training records, including video recordings of your practice calls. What they collect, who can see it, and how long it's kept is on the AI & data page.
- Server logs: the web server records the pages requested, the time, and the requesting IP address, the way every web server does. These logs are used only to keep the site running and are rotated automatically.
The site sets no advertising cookies. PostHog stores an anonymous ID in your browser so a return visit is counted as you and not as a new person. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of serving the font file.
Why I collect it
To prepare for and hold the call you booked, to follow up about it, and, if you become a student, to run the mentorship. Nothing else. I don't sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for marketing.
Where it lives
Applications and free guide sign-ups are stored on a server I control, hosted with DigitalOcean, with a copy kept in a private Google Drive folder. Analytics data lives with PostHog under PostHog's privacy policy. Booking data lives with Calendly. Email lives with the email provider attached to the address above.
How long I keep it
Application records are kept for 12 months, or until you ask me to delete them, whichever comes first. Free guide sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete them.
Your choices
Email me at the address above to see what I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. I'll do it within 30 days and confirm when it's done. If you're in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (for example PIPEDA in Canada, GDPR in the EU/UK, or CCPA in California), those rights apply to you here and the same email is how you exercise them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes to how I use your information will be told to you directly if I have your email.
